My debut album is available now on limited edition cassette and digital! Written between 2006 and 2018, Transition Vision is about the individual and the whole of us in the midst of an evolution. When a society breaks down, the best ideas left are used to rebuild it. The lyrical themes of this album are about some of those ideas. A few have begun to be assimilated into our culture. Others still remain on the fringes. Recorded, mixed and mastered to tape using real instruments, the sound of Transition Vision represents my affinity for the electric sitar, Hammond organ, big drums, analog synths and melodic hooks. It’s featured today on Bandcamp’s New and Notable! They wrote: “Playful, funky boom-bap from Now Age Emcee blends cosmic themes with personal storytelling.” Listen and purchase below.

I’m looking forward to a performance at a beautiful community festival called The Freedom Gathering this coming Friday, the day of my album release! Visionary artist Mary Beth will be joining me to paint live during my set. We’ve done a digital collaboration for the Come out of Hiding lyric video and this will be our first live ceremony together. I’ll have cassettes of my album Transition Vision available there. We go on at 9pm.

I’m excited to be performing at Good People Good Times Music Festival this year! I’ve attended before and it’s in a beautiful spot in Brown County. I’m doing a silent disco set Saturday night around midnight.

I’m also excited to be performing at Rock The Hostel! It takes places at a magical whimsical hostel in West Baden, IN. I perform Saturday at 3:45pm. Catch one of my favorite Indy songwriters Caleb McCoach there too!

My new video for my new single, “If I Was an E.T.” is out now! When writing it, I imagined a doo-wop love song between an E.T. and an Earthling. When we fall in love, who and what do we fall in love with? If our lover changed form, would our feelings remain? To create the sense of an alien planet, the video was shot at immersive art space OTHERWORLD in Columbus, Ohio.

I’m so excited to share a photo of my new shrine! At one of my first shows back in December, I had a make-shift shrine on stage. It was just a small cheap table with a cloth over it, pictures, candles, and my boombox. I really wanted a shrine made of wood and, at the time, this was the best I could do. Then, as synchronicity would have it, standing in the front row of my performance was a woman who later described herself to me as a shrine maker! My new friend Chelsea has a wonderful company called Attend and helps people create sacred spaces in their home. She designed and created for me such a thoughtful and beautiful shrine that folds up and is easy for me to transport to my shows. I love it!
