Now Age Emcee performs sacred boom bap rituals on a boom box tuned to 432hz.
Live performances involve group chanting, a shrine, a cassette boom box and telephone mic to create a lo-fi shamanic Hip Hop ceremony. His moniker is inspired by the brilliant writings of Taraka Larson. Debut album Transition Vision (9-29-23) is about the individual and the whole of us in the midst of an evolution. When a society breaks down, the best ideas left are used to rebuild it. The lyrical themes of this album are about some of those ideas. A few have begun to be assimilated into our culture. Others still remain on the fringes. Recorded, mixed and mastered to tape using real instruments, the sound of Transition Vision represents Now Age Emcee's affinity for the electric sitar guitar, Hammond organ, big drums, analog synths and melodic hooks.
